A Paradise Of Birds

I am so excited! Irene Blanck has commenced a new block of the month, A Paradise Of Birds.

I purchased the first instalment today at Patch N Quilt, Gisborne from Mary. The completed quilt is stunning so I hope in 8 months time I will be on my way to owning one of my own.

I had just stated to sip from my glass of wine and enjoy the party when my SES pager went off. Driver verses kangaroo, driver ok, kangaroo not ok. Return home to begin again with a sip of wine and managed to almost complete the needle turn block for the Irene Block, Message In A Bottle. I am beginning to see the finishing line for this project.

A new book for my already filled to capacity book shelf. I fell in love with Irene's patterns in the book so I just had to buy it. Personally signed!

For some time now I have been working on Irene's, Message In A Bottle, so now I am really motivated to get in closer to completion.

NSW Task Force Echo

Catching a plane to Brisbane then a bus to Lismore to assist the NSW SES with their storm jobs.

I'm thinking this is going to be one wet long weekend!

A Lone Pine has been planted at the Gisborne Cemetery to commemorate 100 years since the landing at Gallipoli. Let us watch it grow!

Vintage Sewing Collage

I have completed Gail Pan's design, Vintage Sewing Collage. It was a fun project and I found the buckle and vintage buttons in my Mother In Law's stash of buttons and buckles.

I was able to complete a Gail Pan stitchery that I started at her workshop last weekend. I also stitched the first of Rosalie Quinlan's United Stitches. The rabbits are so cute and appropriate for Easter.

I'm back!

After a long absence on blogger I will try now to be more reliable on entering a post. I think it may need to become a habit that I have not yet formed! Last night I participated in FNWF and worked on my Quilt of Love. I stitched the hearts and began the binding. I am hoping to finish it tonight.

Quilting Aid 2009.

Well at last I have finally finished the Blue Bird Of Hope quilt that I started in 2009.  Although it took along time to complete it gave me a lot of pleasure knowing that I was also helping to raise funds for girls of Ethiopia so that their fistula issues can be delt with. The quilt involved appliqué and stitchery. I had it quilted by Kerry of Blackforest Quilting of Macedon.

It's at my house tonight! Looking forward to a productive night with Tanya, Sue, and Tracee. There will be lots of good cheer and maybe a little stitching!

Sleepover Overnight Bag.

For the last few days I have been busy making this "Melly and Me" bag called "Sleepover". I just love this pattern as it makes a great overnight bag with plenty of room for all that you need. It is a little challenging getting all the layers together but worth it. This one is for a friend who is having a birthday  on the weekend. I hope she likes it!
